2009 Nuvayokva Saucony Shoe Program  


The Oraivi Footrace is proud to announce the Nuvayokva Saucouny Shoe Program. The Nuvayokva Saucony Shoe Program is a sister program of the Oraivi 8K Footrace which intends to award a pair of running shoes to the cross country athlete from the Native American community. The mission of the shoe program is to help the cross country athlete who is need of running shoes. By awarding a pair of shoes to the individual will promote self-confidence in believing in themsleves to reach their goals, dreams, and potential in the sport of running. Also, by giving the individual the opportunity to continue the strong connection of running tradition in their culture through competive running. In helping the cross country athlete in acheiving their life long goals and continue to practice their culture, this program is made possible with the contribution of Saucony and the proceeds from the Oraivi 8K Footrace and 2 Mile Fun Run And Walk. The Nuvayokva Saucony Shoe Program will be able to award 10 Individulas from the Native American running community for the upcoming 2009 cross country season. Details Below.

-  10 Individuals will be awarded from Native American ethnicity.
-  Must be between 10 to 17 years of age and a member of their respective cross country team.

- Application must be received by *T.B.D* or postmarked by *T.B.D.*. Deadline is enforced, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
- All Awardees will be notified by mail or phone call on *T.B.D.*. If you are awarded, you MUST be present at the Oraivi Footrace on August 9, 2009 to receive your shoes.
